A lot of what we eat is determined by what we like and not how good it is for us, and many people use food as a way to make themselves feel better. Unfortunately, this often leads to poor food choices and eating too much.

Although I have followed a plant-based (vegan) diet for more than 10 years, I am a big advocate of people making gradual changes in their diets. Otherwise, in many cases, people go full vegan and then burn out, going back to the SAD (Standard American Diet).  I’ll give you tips on transitioning.

We live in amazing times, however.  According to a 2017 report from research firm Global Data, the number of people in the U.S. who identify as vegan rose 600 percent between 2014 and 2017.  Recently the company Don Lee Farms started selling their plant-based “burger” at Costco, and sold more than one million “burgers” in less than 60 days!

In this section, I will present you with some solid scientifically-based reasons to move into a plant-based diet. There are so many studies that show that it can stop and even reverse serious diseases such as heart disease, diabetes and even Alzheimers.

There are many reasons to do so: health, environmental and ethical.  I hope you’ll find your reason(s) and make the move.
